The East Asia Insurance Congress is a prestigious conference that brings together 1000 - 1200 decision makers and leaders of the insurance industry in Asia to discuss the key issues that face the region. Allianz Reinsurance Asia Pacific is proud to be associated with the 25th East Asia Insurance Congress as an Emerald Sponsor.
This year's congress will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from 18 to 22 October 2010. The theme is "Going Back to Basics with a Dynamic New Mindset in Insurance" which promises to generate very interesting and beneficial discussions amongst the delegates.

Lights Out, Climate Protection On
Earth Hour 2010 took place on Saturday, March 27, 2010 worldwide. At 8:30 pm (Singapore time), cities around the world switched off their lights for one hour to show that it's possible to take action on global warming.
Allianz Reinsurance Asia Pacific participated for the second year to pledge its support to this event with the engagement of all our employees, to switch off the lights in the office on Friday, March 26.

Allianz Reinsurance Asia Pacific heralded the New Year with a Giving Spirit and a Good Cheer
Last Christmas, Allianz SE Reinsurance Branch Asia Pacific held a mini charity fair. Makeshifts sale counters were set up and managed by staff for their colleagues. The event was held during lunch time and just within one and a half hours, generous amount of funds were collected.
As part of an ongoing effort since our last collaboration in October 2008, Habitat for Humanity, Singapore was identified as the beneficiary of the collected funds. This year, Allianz Reinsurance Asia Pacific sent not only two enthusiastic teams, but also volunteers from various Allianz entities in Singapore to Batam over the weekend of 21 January 2010. The objective: to lay the foundation of two houses for the family of Mr Hutabarat and Mrs Ompusunggu respectively.
Rome was not build in one day. Despite the occasional rain and sun, both teams successfully completed the demolition of a house and the necessary foudation for both houses. At the end of the day, volunteers brought home not only a sense of achievement, but most importantly, a greater appreciation of life in the city.
